ConnectEd: The California Center for College and Career - The Toolkit

 Making Postsecondary and Industry Connections

In designing multiple pathways for students to follow through high school and into college and career, educators need not feel that they are alone. Crucial to the success of such an effort are alliances of committed stakeholders, comprised not only of educators within schools and Regional Occupational Programs and Centers, but also of business professionals, labor representatives, community organizations, and parents/guardians. The resources included here outline strategies to assist schools in partnering with postsecondary institutions and business and industry. Through these partnerships, professionals can help educators design curriculum, evaluate student work, and align secondary standards to postsecondary expectations, enabling students to succeed in further education upon high school graduation.
